My name is Anna and I started Jungle Things Oregon reptile rescue in 2020. I began with two leopard geckos, then a bearded dragon.. and it went on from there.
I’ve always had an extreme love for animals. Before exotics I spent many years taking in moms and kittens, or bottle baby kittens. I still have one of my original kittens, who is now almost 9 years old! I cut back when I had infants. Then I switched to reptiles when I stumbled upon my first set of leopard geckos being rehomed in a houseplant group! They were housed together and one female was severely impacted from it. I still have contact with these two and they are thriving since separation.
In November 2021 I went social media public and began the process of becoming a known and reputable rescue. Im now working hand in hand with a local exotic vet, and am the recommended rescue for many!
By the beginning of 2022 it became apparent the need was larger than I could manage on my own. We also have added a network of foster homes and began the “treatment at home” program.
We don’t just rescue either. We offer a variety of services!
These include but are not limited to:
-Short term boarding or longer term fostering.
-Simple examinations and enclosure set up assistance.
-Vet Referral
-Feeding assistance, stuck shed assistance, administering medications, etc
-In home treatment plans for sick critters.
- Education for new or learning owners.
-Available adoptables.
If it involves a reptile or animal in need, don’t hesitate to reach out. We also have close resources for help with cats, dogs, birds, fish, sugar gliders, etc
Jungle things Oregon is proud of our reputation. We never take an animal in we don't have the ability to immediately seek medical care for. We are recognized by the state of Oregon in all counties. On top of this we have been the rescue of choice for Timbers veterinary clinic, Pawsitive Wellness veterinary, Santa Clara animal hospital, A few pet shops, and are happy to have helped over 100 private parties as well! We are transparent and trusted. The quality of care is unmatched and we are eager to show you!
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
1969 SE Stephens st. Roseburg or 97470. We serve from southern Washington, north eastern Oregon, all the way to northern California.
Here at JTO we take in any legally owned reptile/amphibian or related. This doesn't mean we are limited to this. We have been known to handle pet rodents, cats, and short term dogs. While these cases are extremely rare, don't hesitate to ask! We have on hand sources for rescue fish, rodents, bunnies, cats, sugar gliders, birds, etc.

Upon arrival the animal will go into quarantine and have an exam. If things are found that is out of our scope we schedule a vet visit.
If the animal is found to have issues, long term disabilities, or are nearing old age, they will end up staying in sanctuary status and finish their days with our love and care.
After 30 days in the rescue and with a clean bill of health, they may go up for adoption. At this point they may also move into a foster home. That’s not always, but it is an option if I need it.
First I have the new owner fill out a foster form and we proceed for a 30 day foster. During that I keep in touch constantly, still have ownership and responsibility. After that if they would like to proceed I do an adoption form and a fee. Those fees are put into the vet fund
I have a strict, no breeding, no co-habbing , and no rehoming contract. I send enclosures or visibly see where they are going to ensure good care and always stay in some touch.
If the animal is returned they are adoptable one more time. If for sure any reason they return again, they stay permanently. I have only had 2 returns!
We love what we do. If there is a need, we will do our best to fill or find who can. We happily work along side a variety of different rescues with the same goals in mind. To better the future of every critter we can.
